Funeral services will be 3 pm Wednesday, at Crestwood Chapel, for Mr. Loyd Henson, age 92, of Anniston, formerly Gadsden, who died Sunday March 6, 2022. Minister Marian New and Reverend  Kevin Sapp will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home announcing.

Loyd loved the outdoors, fishing, gardening, traveling, especially with grandchildren. He retired from Alabama Power Company with over 43 years of service.

He was a Christian and longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Saks. He was loved and will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by parents Oscar and Annie Lou Henson, Sisters Sarah Willingham, Carolyn Sapp and brother John O. Henson.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Jan, daughters  Cheryl(Alex Marquez) Henson, Melanie Summers, grandchildren Kristen Stewart, Nicolas(Ella) Venegoni, and Morgan Summers, great grandchildren Grayson,  Lucas and Silas, brother Miilton Henson and a large extended family.
