Graveside services will be at 1pm Friday, November 20, at New Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery for Louie Francis Burns, age 88, Hokes Bluff, who died Tuesday November 17, 2009. Crestwood Funeral Home will direct.
Mr. Burns was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during World War II, He was a member of first United Methodist Church of Hokes Bluff. He had worked at Goodyear for Twelve years and was the owner and operator of Burns Fabricating Company. He had helped establish the Senior Nutrition Program in Hokes Bluff. Mr. Burns was also a member of the VFW. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Sarah Burns.
He is survived by his daughter Judy (Archie) Bone, Hokes Bluff; Sons, Michael (Sheila) Burns, Hokes Bluff, Joel (Kim McCain) Burns, Hokes Bluff, and Jeffery Burns, Scottsboro; Grandchildren, Jenny Bone (Andy) Miller, Arlington, VA, and Christopher Burns, Hokes Bluff; Six Great Grandchildren.
The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Hokes Bluff Building Fund or to the Patriots' Flight Program for World War II Veterans.
