L.M. Teele passed away Monday, Nov. 24, 2014. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Crestwood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Curtis Scott and Rev. Roy Daugherty officiating. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.
He was a faithful member of McCauley's Chapel United Methodist Church for many years. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. after 36 years' service, and never missed a day of work. He was a member of the Greatest Generation serving in the U.S. Army in Korea.
He is survived by sons, Ted Teele, Jacksonville, and Kenneth Teele, Gadsden; daughters, Deborah Peek (Terry), Thomaston, GA, Pam Guthery (Michael), Gadsden, and Renea Teele, Gadsden; grandchildren, Trent Teele, Jill McClain Turner, Adam McClain and Sarah Guthery; great-grandchildren, Hayden Teele, Ansley McClain, and Hanna Kathryn McClain; many nieces and nephews who he loved as his own; and his companion, his cat, Sweet Girl.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Clevadell Foreman Teele; his parents, Jessie and Myrtie Teele; brothers, Cois, Lonnie, Grady and James Teele; and sisters, Aileene Graves and Ruby Green.
Pallbearers will be Ted Teele, Kenneth Teele, Terry Peek, Adam McClain, Danny Day, Larry Graves Michael Guthery, Lee McKee.
Honorary pallbearers are Tim Graves, Jack Walters, James Sprayberry, Achaia Heath, Tim Burgess and James Teele.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Steve Moore and Polly Elliott, caregivers, and Candy Boatwright, Jay Beggs, May Smith, and all the employees of Amedisys Hospice.
