Linda Ann Shropshire, age 67, of Hokes Bluff, passed away on July 18, 2010. She was a graduate of Hokes Bluff High School, class of 1961 and was salutatorian of her class. After graduation from Gadsden Business College, Linda moved to Hampton, Virginia to live with her older sister and to work. She returned to Gadsden and worked at Noland Company. She moved to Birmingham and worked briefly for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama. She left there and began a 36 year career at the VA Hospital as a medical technologist. She was also a graduate of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She retired from the VA Hospital on December 31, 2009. She passed away on July 18, 2010 after a brief illness.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Lynn Shropshire of Hokes Bluff, Alabama and Sister Mrs. Daphne W. Whitten, Hampton, Virginia.
She is survived by Sisters Mrs. Hubert Hullett of McCalla, Alabama and Susan I. Shropshire of Hokes Bluff, Alabama; nephew Michael A. Hullett of McCalla, Alabama, and Niece Tiffany P. Thomas of Calera, Alabama; her brother in law and several cousins.
There will be a Memorial service at a later date.
Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
