Mrs. Linda Gail Ponder Dial, age 67, of Gadsden, Alabama, passed away on May 20, 2025.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Crestwood Chapel, followed by burial at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Steven Dial will officiate.
Linda will always be remembered as an Emma Sansom High School alumna. She was a dedicated employee of K-Mart for many years. Later in life, she pursued further education at Gadsden State Community College, where she became a certified welder. She went on to work at Thomas & Betts, retiring in 2014 as a Quality Control Inspector.
Linda loved spending time with her family. A devoted Auburn fan, she enjoyed softball, fishing, football, and camping on the river. However, her greatest joy was sitting on the beach in Panama City Beach, Florida, surrounded by her loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Burl and Maurine (Heyes) Ponder, and her siblings: Billy Ray Ponder of Birmingham, Talmage Ponder of Glencoe, Jerry Ponder of Gadsden, Glinda Fay Ponder, Vickie Ponder Autwell, and Rebecca Ponder Cash, all of Gadsden.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Brian Dial; her brother, Ronald (Trisha) Ponder of Southside, AL; and her children: LaSonia (Chris) Carroll, Crystal (Rodney Clark) Brooks, Carrie (Scott) Roberts, Chase (Paige) Dial, Tiffany (Scott) Thompson.
Grandchildren: Samantha (Nick Hamrick) Sanders, Trey Butler, Sidney Butler, Bradlie (Andrew Colly) Sanders, Austin (Jessica) Roberts, Kloie Roberts, Savanna (Dekota) Driver, Trenton Nichols, Ella Tomson, Cody (Michelle) Carroll, and Samantha Carroll.
Great-grandchildren: Adalynn, David, Dylan, Maggie, Samuel, Evelynn, Mable, Zander, Phenick, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Trey Butler, Austin Roberts, Josh Gargus, Jamie Gargus, Nick Hamrick, Andrew Colly, and Chase Dial.
The family kindly requests that family and friends wear Auburn or Alabama attire in honor of Linda's love for college football and the spirited rivalry she so enjoyed.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Courtney Lowe for the love and care he provided through the years. They are also grateful to the CCU staff at Riverview Hospital, as well as Enhabit Home Health and Encompass Health, for their kindness and compassionate care.
The family will receive friends at Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home prior to the service.
