Funeral Service will be at 2pm Wednesday December 8 at Crestwood Chapel for Linda Connell Cornelius, age 64, of Altoona who died Sunday December 5, 2010. Rev. Wayne White and Rev. Albert Morgan will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.
Mrs. Cornelius was a life long resident of Etowah County. She had worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 16 years and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Sand Mountain. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
She is preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Mildred Connell, Daughter Kristy Lynn Handy, and brothers George Billy and Ray Connell.
She is survived by her loving husband Don Cornelius; Daughters Renee (Tim) Freeman, Misty (Tracy) Lebrun, Gwen (Clay) Pomeroy; Grandchildren Amanda Freeman, Baylee and Spencer Lebrun, and Kayla, Drew, and Chance Pomeroy; Loving Brothers and Sisters; and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be , Kevin Connell, Tim Connell, Donny Cunningham, Jimmy Cunningham, John Beal, David Bonner, Mike Hilton, and Mason Cothran.
Special thanks are extended to Gadsden Healthcare Rehab and Lawley Hospice.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5 until 7 pm.
