Linda Helms Bodine, age 69, of Gadsden, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Crestwood Funeral Home, with Father Jose Chacko officiating. Visitation will take place the evening prior, Monday, June 30, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A private family burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery.

Linda was a member of St. James Catholic Church, a proud 1973 graduate of Gadsden High School, and attended Gadsden State Community College. She co-owned Professional Opticians of Gadsden, where she served her community with care and professionalism until her retirement.

A creative spirit at heart, Linda found great joy in painting and cross-stitching, and cherished time spent with her family and friends. Her warmth, gentle humor, and artistic soul will be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving children, Jason Bodine, Kacie (Kevin) Beck, and Nate Bodine, all of Gadsden; her grandchildren, Kirsten (Cyle) Butenhoff, Abby (Drake) Stewart, and Andrew Beck; and her precious great-granddaughter, Eden Stewart. She also leaves behind her sister, Nancy (Jon) Ryan; sister-in-law, Sharron Helms; a host of beloved nieces and nephews; her former husband, Pat Bodine; and her lifelong friends, Billie Faulkner and Dianne Payne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel W. and Adelaide Helms; her sister, Janice Helms; her brother, David J. Helms; and her grandparents, Boston and Leona Helms, and Antone and Evangeline Texeira.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joel W. Helms Lions Eye Clinic, P.O. Box 8245, Gadsden, AL 35902.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Beck, Cyle Butenhoff, Bradley Helms, Ryan Matson, Randy Ryan, and Drake Stewart.
