Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Crestwood Chapel for Mrs. Lillie Mae Gilson, 78, of Gadsden, who died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013. The Rev. Scottie Rice will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mrs. Gilson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all and will be dearly missed. Her family was her greatest pride and passion in her life. She was a talented seamstress, gardener and cook.
Mrs. Gilson was preceded in death by her son, Jack R. Jr.; daughter, Ann Marie; parents, Harold and Annie Harper; brothers, Grant and Albert; and sister, Annie Hearns.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jack Gilson Sr.; children, Darrell (Denise), Roslyn (Sylvester) Jones, Jerrold (Rae Ann), Brian Eric (Brenda); 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Harrold (Mary) Harper, Willie Harper; sisters, Nellie (Robert) Godbolt,Gloria (Howard) Conley, Deborah (Harry) Ribbron; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. -
