Lester L. Behel, age 86, of Eastaboga passed away peacefully at his home on November 26, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Carlotta Joan Fowler Behel, son Stephen Behel, and parents Andrew and Elsie Behel.

Mr. Behel is survived by daughters Karen (Randy) Burnham and Kathy (David) West, daughter in law Leana Behel, and grandchildren Andrew and Austin Burnham, Will, Wyatt, Madison, and Maggie West, and Briana and Connor Behel.

Lester was originally from Florence, Alabama and he was an Army veteran, where he spent time serving in Korea. He retired from the Anniston Army Depot following 33 years of federal service in 1993. He was a loving husband and father, and he was a faithful Christian. He served as Deacon at Betta View Hills Church of Christ for approximately 25 years. He was a regular song leader for the congregation. He also served as educational program coordinator at Betta View Hills for over 20 years. He and Carlotta enjoyed church activities, particularly regional singing events, until they were no longer able to travel.

Pallbearers will be Randy Burnham, Andrew Burnham, Austin Burnham, David West, Will West, Wyatt West, and Connor Behel.

Visitation will be at Betta View Hills Church of Christ in Oxford, Alabama on Sunday November 28, 2021 starting at 1:00 p.m. and will last until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.
