Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Crestwood Memorial Chapel for Leonard Preston McGinnis, age 79, of East Gadsden, who died on Thursday, April 10, 2008. Rev. Gerald Adams will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
Mr. McGinnis was a member of Paden Baptist Church for over 50 years. He was a veteran serving in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Jack's Garage as an automotive technician.
He was preceded in death by his son, Randall Leonard McGinnis.
Mr. McGinnis is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marie McGinnis; daughter, Connie Wiggins; 3 grandchildren, Christy Taylor, Nathan McGinnis and Beth Miller; a brother, James H. McGinnis and numerous nieces and nephews.
In-Lieu-of-flowers, donations may be made to Paden Baptist Church or to your favorite charity.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Keith, Wilburn Keith, John Turner, Jerry McGinnis, Jeff Britton and Jim Golden.
Honorary pallbearers are the members of Lavon Riley's Delta Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home.
