Graveside services will be Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, for Mr. Leon McDaniel, 76, of Coates Bend, who died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013. Dr. Michael Yopp will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery
Mr. McDaniel will be remembered for his dedicated service as a volunteer firefighter for the Coates Bend Volunteer Fire Department with more than 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by parents, Dayton and Gussie McDaniel; brothers, Marvin, James and Jack McDaniel; sisters, Ophelia Parrish, Evelyn Hunt, Juanita Peterson; and nephews, Steve and Larry McDaniel.
He is survived by his wife of more than 55 years, Nell McDaniel; son, Gregory (Patricia) McDaniel; grandson, Trent McDaniel; two stepgrandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
