Celebration of Life will be held April 5, 2025, from 2pm to 4pm in the Fellowship Hall of the at First Baptist Church of Glencoe for Lena Sue (Hicks) Alvis of Guntersville, AL who passed away on March 14, 2025. Joshua Alvis (nephew of Lena) and Brooke Aikman (granddaughter of Lena) will share a few words for the service and, then they will open it up to special friends that would like to share memories or special stories of Lena. Family will receive friends from 2p to 4p in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church of Glencoe.

In Loving Memory of Lena Sue (Hicks) Alvis

Mrs. Lena Sue (Hicks) Alvis, aged 82, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at her residence in Guntersville, AL where she was surrounded by her family. Lena's departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt by those who knew and loved her. Lena Sue devoted 64 years of her life to her family. Her impact on the lives of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchild will extend far beyond her lifetime. Lena was a cherished soul, who touched the hearts of not only her family but many friends as well.

Lena was preceded in passing by her parents Fitzuhugh (FF) and Gladys Hicks and her grandson Logan A. Alvis

Lena is survived by her husband Paul Alvis; children Michele Watson (Keith) and Michael Alvis (Amanda); grandchild Brooke Aikman (Ethan); great grandchild Jaida Clark and several nieces and nephews.

The family of Lena Sue (Hicks) Alvis would like to offer special thanks to Heartlite Hospice Services and Terrace Lake Assisted in Living with the assistance of her time leading up to her passing.

In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the activities department of Terrace Lake Assisted Living in Guntersville, Alabama.
