Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery for Mrs. Laura Allene Thompson, age 88, of Hokes Bluff, who died on Sunday, January 6, 2013. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.

Mrs. Thompson was a loving wife to W.L. Thompson for 63 years, who recently passed away 10 days ago. She loved to garden with her husband and loved to read, especially the Bible. She also loved classical music and ballet. Her favorite passage was to recite the Gettysburg Address. She was a very loving wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother and aunt, and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, Matthew A. (Felicia D. Martin) Thompson; daughter, Tina Ford; grandchildren, Laura Thompson, Meggen (Joe) Morrison, Wyndi Thompson, Coley and Olivia Ford; great grandchildren, Ethan Thompson, Evan Thompson, Eli Thompson and Calllie Grace Dooley; and several special nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be family and friends. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Amedysis Hospice and to the nurses and staff of the 5th Floor at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday at Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home.
