Obituary

Larry Dulaney, age 75, passed away on January 8th, 2024. Larry was born July of 1948 and was a lifelong resident of Lincoln. He graduated Lincoln highschool in 1966. A memorial service will be held at Patton Chapel Baptist Church at  14323 Jackson Trace Road, Lincoln Al 35096. Terry Smith and Randy Hagan will officiate the service. Visitation will be Thursday January 11th, from 12-2 pm with service following.
Larry began his working career with the Coca-Cola bottling co. in Oxford, Al, where he made several lifelong friends. While working there he still farmed with his father Cecil Dulaney, where he learned he had to work hard, and working hard is what he did. Farming and bottling cokes with the help of his family and cousins where he spent hours in the fields to stay ahead. He retired from Coca-Cola in 1987.
With a hard work ethic instilled in him there was no meaning to the word "retire:. He immediately went to work helping his friends from nursery and landscaping, running equipment, just doing a little bit of everything in the construction world. He could tell you how to do it, because he had done it himself.
When he wasn't working he loved to hunt, fish, and bbq with friends. He loved to cook for many people including his church, pancake breakfasts and fish fry were his favorites. He spent days on end doing anything for his sons Barron or Doug wanted. Including going to the mountains or the beach every now and then.
He is preceded in death by his parents Audrey Jewell and Cecil D Dulaney; brother Perry Dulaney
He is survived by his loving wife Susan; sons Doug (Wendee) and Barron (Kim); grandkids Brayden (Haley) and Makenna; great grandson Maddox River Henderson Dulaney; stepdaughter LaNena (Greg) Tackett; step grandchildren Brady Robinson, Matthew Robinson, Sophie Sanders, Will Irwin, Daniel (Jamie) Irwin, Coby Bearden; step great grandchildren Aiden Irwin and Kenleigh Bearden, Stephanie and Dawson Sieger and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.

In summary, Larry did anything and everything his family wanted and needed. He was the backbone to Lincoln Excavating. Keeping LEC going until it was his time. His legacy and teaching will never be forgotten.
As to each is appointed a day and a time, he will hurt no more as he is now with his father in heaven.

The family would like to thank Dr Katie Hardeman and Aveanna Hospice for all their care.
