Lamar Earl Lee | Visit Guest Book Funeral services for Mr. Lamar Earl Lee, 85, Rainbow City, who passed at home Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, surrounded by his loving family, will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Crestwood Chapel. The Rev. Charles Smith will be officiating. Crestwood Funeral Home will direct services. Mr. Lee was a longtime member of East Gadsden United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran, having served in occupied Japan. He retired as a Gadsden firefighter with more than 30 years of service. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 236, and enjoyed being an avid and talented woodworker. He was preceded in death by parents, Hershel and Corena Lee; son, Martin Edward Lee; and brothers, Carl Ray Lee and Bobby Joe Lee. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ella Mae; son, Mickey (Joan) Lee; daughters, Terre Lee and Jeannie (Andy) McCleer; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be friends and family. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Gadsden Fire Department. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. St. John 14:3, "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am you may be also."
