Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday July 13, 2008 at Crestwood Chapel for Lamar Willard Keeling, 75, Gadsden, who died July 10, 2008. Bro. J.B. Wells will officiate. Burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
Mr. Keeling was a member of Louis St. Baptist church, was a 1953 graduate of Glencoe High School and attended Gadsden State. He was a veteran of U.S. Army. Retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 39 ½ years and was a member of Glencoe Masonic Lodge #846. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch, fishing, gardening and working on small engines.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Sue Keeling; daughter; Judy (Terry) Matthews, grandchildren; Jonathon Matthews and Hannah Matthews, mother-in-law; Minnie Pollard; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father F.W. Keeling, mother Bessie Miller Keeling; brother, Edgar Keeling; sisters Lucille Stephens, Gertrude Stephens and Agnes Casey.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie, Greg, Kenneth and Nate Pollard, James Keeling, Dan Stephens, Robert Casey and Jim Stephens.
Honorary pallbearers will be Terry and Jonathon Matthews, David Tidmore, Joe Keeling, James Fletcher, Buddy Copeland and all deacons and members of Louis Street Baptist Church.
Special thanks to Gadsden Regional Cancer Center and the 4th Floor SICU of Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
