IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth David
Pruitt Jr.
November 30, 1941 – December 20, 2021
Kenneth David Pruitt Jr. passed away on December 20, 2021 at his daughter's home in Tillison Bend after being ill for sixteen months.
David was born on November 30, 1941 in Rome, Georgia to Kenneth D. Pruitt Sr. and Thelma Gautney Pruitt. After moving to Gadsden, David attended Gadsden High School and graduated in the class of 1960. Immediately after graduation he went to the Goodyear Plant to take a test for an engineering apprenticeship position. He was one of two hundred young men taking the test and was one of eight chosen, making the second highest grade. He retired after forty-two years of service, but remained a consultant for over ten years after that. He traveled to several countries to help with setting up new equipment. He and his wife even resided in Australia for three months.
David was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church where he was baptized at an early age. In 2003, he and his wife started attending Briarwood Baptist where he served as a deacon. David was an avid Alabama fan and loved car racing and restoring old cars.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-eight years Charlotte Nance Pruitt and his parents Kenneth and Thelma Pruitt.
David is survived by his daughter Karen Aultman, sons Kenneth David (Sherry) Pruitt III and Keith Duane (Amelda) Pruitt, sisters Lynda Sue Range and Nancy Kaye Davenport, grandsons Landon Aultman, Kayce Aultman, Brandon (Macy) Pruitt, and Dustin (Katelyn) Pruitt, and great grandson Micah Pruitt.
The family would like to thank Encompass Hospice for their wonderful care and especially Peyton and Lori, David's longtime friend Rodney Mobley for all of his visits this past year, and his friends at Briarwood Church.
The family will accept flowers or you may donate to the Cancer Foundation, Autism Research, or Alzheimers Research.
