Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Welch Dobbs, age 79 of Gadsden who died Friday June 5th will be held 3 pm Monday at Crestwood Chapel. Bro. Larry Garrard will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in Charge of services.
Mr. Dobbs attended Etowah High School. He served in The United States Air Force until 1962 then served in The Air National Guard for 20 years. He retired from Republic Steel in 1981. He faithfully attended and sang in the choir at Cherry Street Baptist Church, until his health declined. He was truly a man who served his God, served his country and loved his family.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Wanda Jean Dobbs, daughter Debbie Dobbs Thompson son in law Mark A. Thompson, grandson Ian Thompson and chosen grandson Clark(Stephanie) Thompson. His brother John Edward Dobbs of Birmingham, sister in law Deanne Dobbs of Rome Ga., Cousin by blood, brother by choice George Weldon King, Guntersville Al. and his 2 chosen great grandsons and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cherry Street Baptist Church.
Pall bearers will be Mark Thompson, Clark Thompson, Freddie Dobbs, Greg Dobbs and Ed Gowens.
Honorary pall bearers are Brother John Dobbs and cousin George Weldon King.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 1 pm until the time of service.
