IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kendra Sue
Lasseter Johnson
November 9, 1945 – June 5, 2025
Kendra Sue Lasseter-Johnson died Thursday, June 5, 2025, after a brief illness. She is survived by her children, Jeff Lasseter and Kelli Lasseter (Sonya), and grandchildren, Madeleine Lasseter (Sam) and Kyle Lasseter, and a multitude of other family members. Preceded in death by her precious husband, Ronnie Lasseter; mother, Nettie Sue Patterson (Joe); and beloved brother, Ricky Reavis. Born November 9, 1945, mom (aka "Grammy") lived most of her life in Gadsden, AL and attended Gaston High School where she met and married the love of her life and our dad, Ronnie Lasseter. In her early career, mom was a bank teller, a role she loved dearly; however, it was her desire to do more to help people that inspired her to pursue a degree in Nursing from Gadsden State Community College. Mom's nursing career spans more than 40 years, ending in 2017 as a hospice nurse with Amedisys. She made many dear friends because of her nursing journey, many of whom she remained in contact with throughout the years. She was an avid fan of music (especially Elton John and Billy Joel), loved good food (fried oysters were her favorite), baking holiday cookies/treats, traveling, going to concerts and musicals, reading a good Stephen King novel, and watching movies. Mom was a Christian and leaned into her faith daily. She wanted all her friends and family to know how much she loved each of you. She especially wanted Madeleine and Kyle to know that of all the titles she held in this world, being "Grammy" was by far her most treasured. We love you, mom! While your physical absence leaves an emptiness never to be filled, our hearts are full knowing that your final wish has been fulfilled, to be reunited with dad in heaven.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Mountain Cove Assisted Living for the many years of love and support they provided mom with. Additionally, the family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of UAB St. Vincent's Pell City, The Villages at Cook Springs, and Compassus Hospice for the care provided in her final days. Special thanks to Dr. Stephanie Morgan for the compassionate care she has provided over the past 4 years. In lieu of flowers, mom requested donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. A memorial service will be held Tuesday from 11am until 1pm at Crestwood Funeral Home.
