Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Crestwood Funeral Home for Kathy Black Campbell, 57, who passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009. Howard Holland will officiate with burial to follow at Crestwood Cemetery.
Kathy was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend. She graduated Etowah High School in 1970 and Gadsden State School of Nursing in 1987. She was a registered nurse at Gadsden Regional 7th floor for 21 years. She loved spending time with her family, and going to her nephews' ball games. She devoted her life to helping others. She was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Black and her brother, John Michael Black.
She is survived by her son, Danny Campbell, mother; Kathryn Black, sisters; Janet (Kenneth) Robertson, Jo Anna (Howard) Holland, Amanda Morgan, sister-in-law, Susan Black, six nephews, six nieces 13 great-nephews, 10 great-nieces and one great-great nephew.
Pallbearers will be Jason Robertson, Barney Horn, Jonathan Lambert, Stephen Nathan and Travis Holland, Andrew Johnson, Tanner Morgan and Jason Shirley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Ray Richards, Angela Nance, Becky Scott and Jean Black.
The family is accepting flowers or donations can be made to The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr, James Robinson, Susan Richards, the nurses and staff of Gadsden Regional MICU, Dr. Gary Kwan, Dr. Asif Kleem, Dr. Ross and the nurses and staff of Noland Hospital.
Family will receive friends from 5-7 Tonight at the funeral home.
