Mrs. Kathleen Bryant Hicks, 95 of Gadsden passed away on Sunday April 22,2018.

Affectionately known to all  as Kitty, she was born in Cullman Alabama to parents Claire H. and Fannie Rushing Bryant, where she resided until moving to Gadsden. She became employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company where her strong work ethic and tenacity was exemplified by her 40 years of service with the the company. Upon retirement ,her work continued as she was often called upon by her church, College Heights Baptist, to serve others by sharing her gift of preparing meals that expressed her southern roots. A skilled baker, family and friends were often privileged to enjoy one of delicious pies  ,cakes or breads.

A dedicated and loving Mother and Grandmother, Kitty is survived by her loyal son Paul Bruce Hicks(Sherry),beloved granddaughters, Lauren Brooke Hicks, and Meredith Hicks Rehm (Gary) and great-grandson, William Davis Rehm. Also, her faithful sister, Bea Stricklin, and special nieces.

The family wishes to thank all friends and family for their  many prayers and gestures of love and encouragement. Gratitude is extended to the wonderful care-givers, LaTonya Rutledge, Shona Easley, Shundel Malone, and Kindred Hospice, for their commitment to professional care delivered with love and compassion, assuring her last weeks at home was comfortable and peaceful.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be make for support of cancer research to Pancreatic Cancer Network, The American Cancer Society or Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Eulogy services, conducted by Pastor John Jacobs 111, will be held on Wednesday, April 25, at 3 pm at Crestwood Funeral Home, 2209 Broad Street, Gadsden. The family will receive friends and family for visitation 30 minutes prior to services.
