Obituary

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Crestwood Chapel for Katherine Edwina Marker Miles, 97, of Lithia Springs, Ga., formerly of Gadsden, who died Monday, March 11, 2013. The Rev. Bob Luker will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
She will be remembered as a fantastic wife, mother and homemaker whose house was always immaculate. She was the youngest daughter of 14 children of a pioneer family who homesteaded Etowah County in the 1800s. She was a lifelong member of Glencoe First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Cleo Miles; daughter, June Miles Noah; parents, William and Barbara Marker; grandson, Doug Miles; great-granddaughter, Karen Carter Benfante. She was the last of 14 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son, Edwin Miles of Lithia Springs, Ga.; grandchildren, Dena (Todd) Cannon of Snellgrove, Ga., Robert Noah and Roger Noah of Birmingham, Ala.; Becky (Jim) Lancaster of Spring, Texas; great-grandchildren, Josh and Jacob Cannon of Snellville, Ga., Brittney (Steve) Chandler of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and Hannah Miles Gazaway of Gadsden; five great-great-grandchildren.
The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to the Big Oak Ranch.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
