Memorial services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, July 15th, 2015, at Crestwood Chapel for Karen Beth Smith, 61, of Gadsden, who passed away Saturday, July 11th, 2015. Reverends John Dickinson and Bill Harbison will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services. Visitation will be held from 1 PM until the time of the service on Wednesday.

Beth was born and raised in Gadsden, AL, and graduated from Gadsden High in 1971. After that, she attended Gadsden State Community College. She was a loving and caring mother, daughter, and sister, who always did her best to serve others. Ms. Smith was a devoted believer in Christ and of the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by her son, Justin D. Smith; father, Bill Sego; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sego, and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hand, Sr. She is survived by her mother, Hazel Sego; brother, Dennis (Debbie) Sego; sister, Lisa (Mark) Stephens; aunts, uncles, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any favorite charity. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of the ICU of Riverview Regional Medical Center.
