Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM, Monday, January 19th, at Crestwood Chapel for Julie Mae Hargrove, 73, of Glencoe, who went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 15th, 2015. Bro. Rick Luallen will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of directing services.
Mrs. Hargrove loved God before all else, and dearly loved her church family. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Julia also loved Alabama football. She gathered with her sisters once a week to quilt, and they were known to some as the "Golden Girls".
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Mary Sue Ayers; sons, Harold Dean Hargrove, Jr. and Mark Anthony Hargrove; and brother, Johnny Lee Ayers.
Mrs. Hargrove is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harold D. Hargrove, Sr.; daughter, Rita (Tommy) Read; son, Chris (Shelene) Hargrove; grandchildren, Nathan and Broc Read, Ashton and Jeremy Hargrove, Tyler Hargrove and James Dean Hargrove; great-grandchild, Stella Read; sisters, Jane Daffron, Gloria Jean Davis, Janet Mitchell, Joan Taylor; sister-in-law, Ruby Russell; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Read, Broc Read, Jeremy Hargrove, Tyler Hargrove, James Dean Hargrove, Carlton Russell, and Billy Vaughn.
Honorary pallbearers are all the former employees of Holiday Lamp and Lighting.
