Funeral will be held at 2 PM, Friday, April 24rd, 2015, at Crestwood Chapel for Judy Gail Alford, 68, of Attalla, previously Altoona, who passed away Saturday, April 18th. Burial at Altoona Walnut Grove Cemetery will follow. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
Mrs. Alford was formerly employed as a Registered Nurse at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. She was a breast cancer survivor. She was a much respected, upstanding citizen. She was cherished and loved by very many family and friends. Judy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will always be remembered for being a very loving, caring and giving woman.
Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas "Tim" Alford; parents, Grady "Cotton" and Pauline Moore; brother, Larry Moore; and beloved, Brian Pitts.
She is survived by her son, Van William Hill; grandchildren, Van (Keysha Phillips) Brooks and their daughter Kammi Phillips, Cade Hill and Christian Brooks; daughter-in-law, Tina Brooks Hill; many great-grandchildren, uncles, cousins, and close friends. She loved them all and would do anything for them.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are "Lil Van" Brooks and Cade Hill.
Special thanks to W.T. Davenport, Tina Lindsey, Gentiva's Hospice, specifically Penny, Sarah, and Carol. And a very special thank you to the world's greatest nurse and friend, Pam Baker.
Visitation will be held from 12-2 on Friday prior to the service.
