Juanita was one-of-a-kind! She was
the definition of class...
reserved and dignified, yet would speak her mind when she felt inclined. She was tough-as-nails, and stubborn in the best ways, but always showed love and grace to those around her. She could always tell you what was in style and on trend and what was
not
! Her culinary skills were unmatched and there will never be a red velvet cake, gravy and biscuits, or turkey and dressing that even come close
to Juanita's
!
She was truly a master of anything she set her mind to!
She prided herself in cooking for and spoiling those she loved and she did it so well! She loved her family with all of her heart, and dedicated every day of her life to them! She was blessed with 67 years of marriage to her husband Hoyt, who preceded her in death in 2014, and gave her 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren a lifetime of love! She was so adored by all that knew her and will be missed terribly every day of our lives!
Juanita is survived by her son, Mike Davidson, of Southside, daughter, Kay Davidson Armstrong, of Southside and daughter-in-law Loretta Martin Davidson, of Brewton; grandchildren, Dan Davidson, of Michigan, Matt (Aimee) Davidson, of Madison, MS, Jill (Nick) Walden, of Homewood, AL, Haley (Josh) Wright, of Homewood, AL, Luke (Jamie) Armstrong, of Gadsden, AL; great-grandchildren, Eli and Luke Davidson, Brayden, Brooks, and Emma Kate Davidson, Anderson Kate Reeves and Hudson Walden, Hayes Davidson Wright, Evan and Emma Armstrong; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Jaunita was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Myrtle Ragon; her husband, Hoyt Davidson; her son, Anthony Davidson; two sisters, Dorothy Mahan and Catherine Griffin; and five brothers, Bill, J.W., Rayburn, Milton and Nolan Ragon.
Jaunita loved and loved well. Whether you were her family by blood or her family by choice, she ensured that you knew you were loved and cared for!
Her life was full of love and blessings and those of us who were lucky enough to know her, knew we were better for having her in our lives! She was a gift to this world, and to all of us! While she will forever be missed, we celebrate her today knowing that she is resting in the arms of our Saviour and reunited with the love of her life, Hoyt, her youngest son, Anthony, and numerous siblings and friends who no doubt were waiting for her in celebration! The rest of us will celebrate as well knowing that we will be reunited with her again one day!
