Joyce Mitchell, age 77, of Gadsden, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Crestwood Funeral Home.
Joyce will be remembered for her zest for life and adventurous spirit. She and her beloved husband, Don, shared a deep love for the water, spending countless cherished days on their houseboat. Joyce found joy in travel—whether soaking up the sun on the beach, embracing the serenity of the mountains, or enjoying the thrill of a casino. Joyce was retired from Gadsden Health and Rehab.
Above all, Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her warmth, kindness, and vibrant personality will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don Mitchell; her parents, James T. and Jeanette Stringer; and her brother, Kenneth Stringer.
Joyce is survived by her son, Jason Hall (Angie); grandchildren, Tanner Hall, Lauryn Young (Garret); great-granddaughter, Saylor Grae Young; sister, Sandra Thompson (Roy); and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family would like to extend special thanks to dear friends Paula, Carmen, Juanita and cousin Marie, as well as her dedicated caregivers: Jana, Jackie, Rita, and LeAnn.
