Joyce Maxine Bell, of Gadsden, stepped into the arms of Jesus at the age of 93 on June 26, 2015.
Born in 1922, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She served her family, friends and community proudly as the oldest member (over 50 years) of Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Gadsden, AL and was a member of Cherry Street Baptist Homebound Ministry. Her life was full of grace, compassion and love, which she gave to all that knew her. Always good for a laugh AND a cry, her spirit embodied the very calling that Christ request- The greatest of these is love.
She now joins her loving husband of 39 years, Bryson Pearce Bell and is preceded in death by parents, Robert and Maggie Hayes and special friend Marian Wheeler. She is survived by loving children Sandra Pruett, Dr. Bryson "Gene" Bell and Robyn Brown. Brother, Douglas "Vernon" Hayes and sister, Jacqueline "Jackie" (James) Robinson. Five grand children, eight great grand children and many nieces and nephews.
Her life should inspire the living to be good to their neighbor, love and serve their family, strive for success and always have hope.
The family will receive friends at Crestwood Funeral home 11:00AM until 1:00PM on Wednesday, July 1st. Service at 1:00PM.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Mt. Zion Methodist Church family.
