Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Crestwood Memorial Chapel for Mr. Joseph Edward Eiland Sr., age 88, of East Gadsden, who died on Wednesday, March 4, 2009. Rev. Frank Samuels will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
Mr. Eiland served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. He worked at Republic Steel, Knoxville Iron and Steel, C & L Machine Shop.
He is survived by his wife: Frances Parton Eiland; sons: J. E. (Sheila) Eiland Jr., Ronald Edlow Eiland and Robert Dennis Eiland and partner Timothy Brown; grandchildren: Dr. Jonathan Alexander Eiland, Dr. Christopher Brooks (Sarah) Eiland and Vanessa Lynn Flowers; siblings: Wanza Dunn, R. B. Eiland, and Sara McFarland (Clearwater, Fla.)
Pallbearers will be College Heights Baptist Church Deacons.
Family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm tonight at the funeral home.
