Graveside services will be 1 pm today at Crestwood Cemetery for Mr. Joseph D. Edwards age 72 of Gadsden who died Sunday. Reverends J. Ben Killingsworth and Harold Daughtery will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
He is a faithful attendee of New Life Church of God. He was a retired contract painter.
He is preceded in death by parents Manzy and Alice Edwards, brother Keith Edwards and sister Grace Padgett.
He is survived by wife Emma Edwards ,sons, Joey(Carla) Edwards of California, T.J. Edwards of Oklahoma, stepdaughters Renae Richardson and Stacy Huff.He raised 4 grandchildren Katie Ragan , Cody Myers , Joey and Brandi Richardson, also grandchildren Shannon Wilson ,Madison And Morgan Philpot, Daylon Philpot, , Taza,Tia and Ehlora, brothers Tim (Jackie)Edwards ,Gene(Lizzie) Edwards of Georgia, sister Faye Palmer of Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
The family will be accepting flowers.
