Funeral services will be 1 pm Monday at Crestwood Chapel for Mr. Joseph Lee Childs Jr. age 50 of Glencoe, who died Friday March 24. Reverends. Anthony Gomez and Ricky Studdard will officiate . Burial will be in Alabama National Cemetery , Montevallo Alabama. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Joe attended Southside High School and joined The United States Marines at 17 years of age. He served in Okinawa Japan and The Philippine's. Joe Worked for J.A. Childs Construction Company for 2 years and then went to California and established a successful Mortgage Broker Firm. His last accomplishment was his much anticipated trip across the country in his jeep.
Joe is survived by Father Joe Childs Sr., mother Brenda Jackson, brothers Stephen and Jason stepmother Nalda Childs, girlfriend Jessica and her son Clayton McClain.
The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Martinmaas, Sam Mitchell and Kim Lemelin.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 11 am until the time of service.
Burial with full military honors will be 12:30 Tuesday at Alabama National Cemetery.
