Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015, for Johnny L. Starr, 68, of Glencoe, who passed away on May 30th, 2015. Bro. Frank Samuels will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
Johnny Served in the United States Army. He was retired from the City of Gadsden, and he also served as a member of the Etowah County Rescue Squad.
Mr. Starr was preceded in death by his father, James Starr; mother, Evelyn Cochran; and grandson, Cody "CoCo" Starr.
Johnny is survived by his children, Aubrey Starr, Wendy Starr Phillips, Regina Starr, Bart Starr, and Glenn (Beth) Starr; grandchildren, Paloma Starr, Stephen and Jessica Starr, Madalyn Starr, Luke Starr, and Sommer Gray; siblings, Marilyn Brown, Angela Smith, Donald Starr, and Jimmy Cochran; several nieces and nephews; he is also survived by many loving friends.
Pallbearers will be the Etowah County Rescue Squad.
Honorary pallbearers are friends at Villa Fiesta, friends and problem solvers from McDonalds in Glencoe, and friends from College Heights Baptist Church.
Special thanks to Glencoe Police Department and friends and staff of Villa Fiesta; and also to the VA Hospital.
The family will accept friends from 6-8 PM on Tuesday evening at Crestwood Funeral Home.
