Memorial service will be at noon Friday, November 15, at Crestwood Funeral Home for Johnny Laney, 51, of Gadsden, who died November 12, 2013. Tony Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.
Johnny was an avid motorcyclist and loved riding his Harley better than anything. He enjoyed life to the fullest. Johnny was the type of person who made friends everywhere he went and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his daughters, Mallory Cox and Michelle Laney; grandmother, Eunice Blevins; sister, Janice (Greg) May; brothers, Wayne (Rosie) Laney and Keath (Lynn) Laney; three grandchildren; fiance, Lori Wade; aunts, Murline Sims and Lavice Laney; cousins, Maxine Jones and Shane Steapleton. He was preceded in death by his favorite cousin and buddy, Budman.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Larry Lynn Laney and Glenice Blevins Laney.
Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Jones, David Sims, Lisa Carnes, Bill Parsons, Guy Hogue, Brenson Elliott, Verlin McCurdy, Richard Obrien, Clay Wagnon and Billy Ray Thacker and Gaston High School Class of 1980.
