Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home for John Boyd Riddle, 63, Gadsden, who passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011. Dr. Gary Ashley will officiate with burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct. John was a Christian man who served many years as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at East Gadsden Baptist Church. He spent most of his career as Director of Environmental Services at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Gadsden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Ruby Riddle; and beloved grandmother, Ruth Roberts Riddle. He is survived by his wife, Terri Adams Riddle; daughters, Aleece (Kevan) McGehee, Amanda (fianc Scott Cheatham) Riddle; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Samuel) McElwee; sister, Donna (Robert) Shamblin; several nieces and nephews; and his constant companions, Spanky and Cricket. Memorial donations may be made to East Gadsden Baptist Church or the Humane Society Pet Rescue and Adoption Center at 4200 Brooke Ave., Rainbow City, AL 35906.
