John Wesley Little, aged 87, passed away peacefully on August 16,2023 at his daughter's home in Jasper, AL. He was born on April 24,1936 in Gadsden, Alabama to James Herbert Little and Emma Lou Little.

John was a graduate of Southside High School. After high school, John served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Army. John will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love of family and animals.

He is survived by his wife, Christal D. Little, and they enjoyed 44 years of marriage. Together they raised 2 loving daughters, Jauna and Brittni Little.

John was preceded in death by parents, siblings James Little, David Little, Thea G. (T.G.) Parker, Bill Parker, Anita Little Gerra, and Nona Little McGillivray.

In addition to his spouse and children, he is survived by his fur-baby Little Bear, Brother-in-Law Martin J. Gerra Jr. and Sister-in-Law Kathy (Jim) Wiersma, beloved cousin Laura Jane Stargell, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends who will remember him fondly.

The family would like to express a heart-felt thank you to the nurses and staff of the Gadsden and Jasper offices of Aveanna Hospice.

A funeral service will be held at 3 pm Friday August 18,2023 at Crestwood Funeral Home,2209 East Broad St. with Rev. Ray Strawbridge officiating. Burial will be in  Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home  from 1pm until time of service,
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Flowers will be accepted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (1 Metroplex Dr # 230, Birmingham, AL 35209) or The Humane Society Pet Rescue and Adoption Center of Etowah County (4200 Brooke Ave., Gadsden, AL 35904).
