Funeral service for John Troy Karr Jr., 68, will be Tuesday at 2pm at Crestwood Funeral Home Chapel. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge. The Rev. Eugene Lambert will officiate. Burial will be in Memory Hill Cemetery, Albertville. John passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011. He was born in Marshall County on May 4, 1943. One of John's greatest joys was serving with the Albertville Volunteer Fire Department He was honored for 26 years of dedicated service in 1997. John owned and operated his own produce business for over 30 years,and later owned the Lions Den Restaurant for several years. He attended Albertville High School and graduated from Jacksonville State University. Mr. Karr was preceded in death by his parents, John Troy Karr Sr. and Etta Lee Jerrell Karr. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Shirley Lybrand Karr: his children, John (Regina) Karr III, Pam (Michael) Bankston; chosen children, Linda (Tommy)Whitten, Peggy (Ronnie) Smith, Mike(Donna) Davis, Tim Davis;grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Wehrwein, Matthew Wehrwein, Gabriel Wehrwein, Canaan Karr, Sara Grace Karr, James (Deanna) Reaves, Fayla Reaves, Rhonda (Keith) Underwood, Chris (Jessy) Smith, Greg Davis, Amanda (Daniel) Cornutt, Phillip Davis, Chris Davis, Latlsha Davis Jones; sisters, Martha June (Ron) Barber and Chartotte Ann (Glenn) Fielder; special uncles, George and Gartrell Jerrells; and 18 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are the Albertville Volunteer Firemen. Special thanks to Tommy Whitten for the daily visits. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 at Crestwood Funeral Home.
