Funeral services will be 12 pm Friday, December 8,2023, at K L Brown Chapel, Anniston, for Mr. John William Griffin Sr., age 74, who was welcomed into his heavenly home on December 4,2023. Jesse Craft will officiate. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens. John was born January 3,1949, and was raised in Trussville Alabama. He attended Hewitt Trussville High School. In 1967 He joined The United States Marines Corps, and after completing Boot Camp at Parris Island ,South Carolina,he was sent to Vietnam. John was the recipient of The Purple Heart Award. He was employed by Norfolk Southern Railway for 35 years. He was a lover of Jesus and an avid student and teacher of The Word Of God. John also loved to travel. Whenever Possible he and his wife would take off on an adventure. He loved his family and always had a story to tell.
John was preceded in death by his parents ,John Leon Griffin and Bessie Ruth Warren Griffin. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carmen Lynn Griffin, son ,John Griffin Jr., daughter, Sharon (Rusty) Park,son Paul(Carla) Griffin, son Adam(Andra) Griffin,daughter Geni Adams and son Daniel Griffin. He has 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and one brother Joel(Flo) Griffin.
