John Allen Gilchrist, age 76 of Southside, AL. went home to be with the Lord on July 17, 2021.  Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm Monday July 19, 2021 at Crestwood Chapel with Rev.Wayne Young and Chaplain Matt Rose officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 pm until the time of service.

John Allen was a devout Christian and enjoyed reading his Bible. He loved spending time with his family, Alabama football, and watching Nascar and drag racing.  John Allen retired from Goodyear Tire after 35 years of service.

John Allen was preceded in death by his parents; Geraldine Gilchrist and John W. Gilchrist, Son-in-law Joey Brand and Brother-in-law Jimmy Jones.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Wanda Gilchrist, son Jeff (Pam) Gilchrist, daughter Deana (Mark) Clough, step-sons Anthony (Stephanie) Windom and Stacey (Carla) Windom. 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandkids. Brothers Charles (Kayron) Gilchrist, Greg (Salwa) Gilchrist and Sisters; Grace Jones, Mary (Jimmy) Wood and Lizabeth Gilchrist.
