Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery for John Holbert Bartlett, 88, Gadsden, who went to be with the Lord July 11, 2016. The Rev. David Bankson will officiate. Burial will be a Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Cemetery is directing.
John was born on March 3,1928 in Boaz to Clifford and Gertrude Bartlett, who preceded him in death along with his wife Katherine (Richardson); brother, Clifford J. Bartlett; brother-in-law, Freddie Richardson; sister-in-law, Susie Quinn.
He is survived by his son Randy (Brenda) Bartlett; grand daughter Kristi Bartlett; grandsons Bart (Priscilla) Bartlett and Brent (Jessica) Bartlett; great grand children Skylar, Allee, Dawson and JJ Bartlett; nieces Lisa (Randy) Helms, Melanie (Billy) Hartline, Becky Elsberry, Debbie (Donny) Norton; numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins and good friend Nell Gilbert.
John was a WWII Navy Veteran. He retired from Goodyear. John enjoyed woodworking, gardening, traveling and dancing. John enjoyed life to its fullest and was ready to be reunited with his loved ones. He was secure in his faith and place next to his Lord.
