Funeral and visitation will be at Crestwood Funeral Home and Cemetery for Joe F. Nabors, Sr. age 81 of Glencoe, Alabama who died on July 19th, 2017, Glencoe First Baptist Senior Pastor Anthony Gomez will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery with military honors and Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.

Mr. Nabors is a former Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Glencoe Masonic Lodge and was a Mason for over 50 years. He is a graduate of Walnut Grove High School and Snead State Community College. He served as a Councilman and Water Board Member for the City of Glencoe. He was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class at Glencoe First Baptist. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union. He worked at the Gadsden Steel Plant for 40 years and retired as the plant closed. He was known by all of his friends at the Steel Plant by the nickname "Good Buddy''. He developed the subdivision Sam Nabors Estates in Glencoe and was a partner and developer of the subdivision Green Mountain Laker Homes in Southside.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Skillman Nabors, Son Joe F. Nabors, Jr. (Deborah Weathington Nabors), Daughter Cynthia Nabors Parrish (Mark Parrish), Granddaughter Ashley Nabors Bowen (Acton Bowen), Step-Granddaughter Christine Parrish Palmer (David Palmer), Step-Grandson Stephen Parrish.

He is preceded in death by his Father Sam Nabors, Mother Delora Everett Nabors, Granddaughter Amber Brooke Wells, Precious Aunt/Godmother Lola Nabors, Brothers Ollie Nabors, Wallace Nabors, Lamar Nabors, Lenford Nabors, and Robert Gene Nabors.
ln lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Acton Bowen Outreach Pallbearers will be the D-Life Group of Glencoe First Baptist Church.

Honorary Pallbearers are the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 1:3O followed by the funeral ceremony at 3 P.M.
