Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Crestwood Funeral Chapel for Joan B. Franklin, 75, Gadsden, who died Sunday, October 18, 2009. Bro. Byron Vance will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Franklin was a bookkeeper at Northside Healthcare for 19 years, was a member of Southside United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #135.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence C. Franklin, parents; Mr. & Mrs. Cecil A. Brasher, Sr.; brother; Cecil A. Brasher, Jr.; sister & brother-in-law; Joyce B. Henson and John O. Henson.
She is survived by her son; Charles A. (Phyllis) Franklin; daughters; Vicki Franklin (Alan) Cash, Terri Franklin Kirk (Joe) Kielar; grandchildren; Charles Christopher Franklin; Jamie Cash, Jenna Cash, SPC E-4 Charles Franklin "Chad" Kirk, Stephanie Kirk, Joseph Kielar and Jolyn Kielar; great-granddaughter; Camryn Franklin; sister; Billie B. (James) Hand; sister-in-law; Eunice Brasher McClendon; a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or Southside United Methodist Church Building Fund.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Lee, Alan Cash, Charles Christopher Franklin, Joseph Kielar, James Hand and Greg Hood.
Honorary pallbearers will be Vicki Franklin Cash, Terri Franklin Kirk , Charles A. Franklin and SPC E-4 Charles Franklin "Chad" Kirk, who is currently serving in Afghanistan.
