Funeral will be at 3pm today at Crestwood Chapel for Jimmy Townsend, age 76, of Kellyton, AL (formerly of Gadsden) who died Wednesday, August 13, 2014. Pastor Mark Gaither will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery.

Mr. Townsend is preceded in death by his wife Clara Dean Townsend and parents Odie and Lois Townsend.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Sue Townsend; daughters Myra (Jerry) Pippin, Connie (Mike) Diggs, Beth Morgan, and Hope (Mike) Sparks; Stepchildren Angie (Mark) Gaither and David Rice; grandchildren Amy and Ashley Pippin, Amanda (Terry) Weaver, Austin (Alissa) Diggs, Whitney (Blake) Boatwright; Luke Gaither, Logan Gaither, AbigailGaither, and Liam Gaither; and six Great Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 1pm until the hour of service.
