Services were held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, at Crestwood Cemetery for Mrs. Jewell Mintz Yost of Gadsden who died Monday, April 13th, 2015. Reverend Ken Casey officiated. Crestwood Funeral Home was in charge of service.
The center of Jewell's life was her family. She devoted all of her time and energy to cooking, cleaning and caring for her husband and son. She would spend hours preparing and baking her fruitcake at Christmas. Cleaning the house was thoroughly enjoyed by Jewell and was done almost daily. Jewell was a faithful Christian and a longtime member of East Gadsden Baptist Church. As a faithful member of her Sunday School Class she had many friends. Glenda Clark was a very special friend for many years. In her declining health she was loved and cared for by her family.
Mrs. Yost is preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Austin Yost, and son, Dwight Lee Yost, and two brothers, Carl and Ralph Mintz.
She is survived by her sisters, Eva Bishop, Julia Ruth (Dooley) Keenum; brother, Clarence (Edith) Mintz; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Freddie Bishop, Mark Casey, Marvin Keenum Jr., Jason Keenum, Brian Mintz, and Bobby Mintz.
Special thanks to the staff of Coosa Valley Health Care and to the staff of Camellia Lawley Premier Hospice Care for the wonderful loving care they gave her.
