Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday January 22, 2009, at Crestwood Cemetery for Jesse V. Fordham, 98, Gadsden, who died January 19, 2009. Maurice and Scott Hill will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
He was born in Cleburne County and moved to Gadsden in 1942. He retired from Goodyear after 30 years of service. He enjoyed farming, spending time with his family and story telling.
He is survived by his sons, Colon (Brenda) Fordham, Glencoe, Gene (Pam) Fordham, Springville; daughters Mary K. Fordham, Gadsden, Marilyn (Maurice) Hill, Gadsden, 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Amy Fordham, son Talmadge Fordham and grandson, Kevin Fordham.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
