Funeral will be at 1 pm Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at City Church for Jerry R. Stanley age 79 of Hokes Bluff, Al who died Sunday. Rev. Doug Baker will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge. Retired from State of Dept of Agriculture. He was the Christian Education Director at Cathedral Of Praise and Rainbow City Church of God. He was a Christian first and lived his life for the Lord. Involved in church work from the age of 16, he sang with the Singing Cornutts Gospel Quartet. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to all and will be dearly missed.
Proceeded in death by wife of 53 years Elaine Stanfield Stanley. Parents; O.C. and Louise Stanley. Brother; Jack Stanley and his wife Glenda.
Survived by Daughters; Michele (Mike) Brooks, Melia (Dale) West. Grandchildren; Brittany (Jason) Hawkins, Jacob, Trenton, Parker, Macey, Lexie and Coleton. Brothers and sister Rev. Jan (Jane) Stanley, Jim (Joyce) Stanley, J.K. Shoplock, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers are The Singing Cornutts.
Family will receive friends at City Church Rainbow City from 11 until time of service on Wednesday.
