Obituary

Funeral will be at 12:00 noon Saturday, December 28th at Gadsden Cumberland Presbyterian Church for Jerry Wayne "J.W." Johnson, age 75 of Gadsden who died Sunday, December 22nd. The Reverend Daniel Barkley will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
He was a Goodyear retiree with over 32 years of service. He was a devoted Christian, husband, father and grandfather. He loved antique cars and served as President of the Gadsden Antique Auto Club. He was a lifetime member of Gadsden Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a friend to all and will be greatly missed.
Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife, Ernestine Hedgecock Johnson, parents, Elmer Love and Ina Day Johnson, sister, Aileen Taylor, brothers, Robert, Ray, William "Butch" and Bryant Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Marzette Jones Johnson, children, Steven (Stephanie) Johnson, Jill (Michael) Green, Douglas (Joan) Johnson, Jeanne (Joe) Edge, stepchildren, Ben Jones, Jarrod Jones and Natalie (Eddie) Rickett. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrew, Steven "Parker" and Connor Johnson, Meighan (Ben) Cranmer, Taylor (Alice) and Zachary Johnson, great grandchild, Zoe Cranmer, step grandchildren, Erin Castonalos, Zach and Ethan Rickett.
Honorary Pallbearers are James McCartney, Kenneth Mayo, Gerald Smith, Fred Mayer, Jerry Stombaugh, Chris Bobo and John Sullivan.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Reverend Daniel Barkley and our church family, as well as Physicians Choice Dialysis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Gadsden Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1200 Piedmont Cutoff, Gadsden, AL 35903.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 28th from 11:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM.
