A private family memorial service will be held at a later date, for Jerry Wayne Gurley, age 76, of Piedmont, who died March 26, 2022. Shad Smith will officiate. He was born in Paulding County Georgia. He resided in Rock Run Alabama. He retired from Five Star Fixturing. He served in The United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a very loving husband, father, and Papa. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and most of all spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jack Gurley and Ora Gurley Forsyth, brother Rader Gurley, sisters Mary Ann Martin, Melba Parsons and Joyce Smith.

He is survived his wife Darlene Gurley, his daughters Gwen (Buck) Crawford, Michelle Fennell, Tracie Johnston, Britnee (Del) Stephens, 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, Sister Janice Ayers, brothers Charles Gurley and James "Hop" Gurley and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in his name.
