Jerry Mack Foster, age 91, of Gadsden, passed away on December 4, 2025, and was received into the loving and eternal hands of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Crestwood Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the time of service. Micah Williamson will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery.
Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, affectionately known to many as "Pawpaw." He was born on March 22, 1934, in Altoona, Alabama. Jerry lived a life marked by kindness, humility, and sincere goodness toward others. He treated everyone he met with compassion and respect, quietly reflecting his faith through his actions.
Jerry proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army and later retired from the Goodyear Tire Plant after many years of faithful and dedicated service. A true family man, Jerry dearly loved his wife, Mary Frances, as well as his children, grandchildren, and the many friends whose lives he touched. He was a devoted servant of the Lord, faithfully serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher, and he found great joy in teaching and mentoring young boys through coaching baseball.
Jerry is survived by his children: Diane Warren McCarthy (Blane) , Jerry Lamar Foster, and Tresa Foster Flanegin (Rob); grandchildren: Thomas Jerry Warren (Katie), Mary Louise McNeely (Will), Anna Laura Woods (Ishmael), Anastasia Hamann (Ben), Lada Blanchet (Ryan), Kyle Flanegin (Reese), Kevin Flanegin (Bailey), and eKaterina Selazek; great-grandchildren: Mollie, Tyson, Cameron, Macklin, Alivia , Liam, Nicolai, Michael, Willow, Barrett, and Rowan; his sister, Sharlene Ponder; sister in law JoAnn Newell and Mabel Foster, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
