Graveside services will be 3 pm today, at Crestwood Cemetery for Mr. Jerry Allen Black, age 77, of Gadsden , who died Tuesday  April 10,2018. Reverend Johnny Simmons will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home announcing.

Jerry was a lifelong resident of Etowah County,other than the 9 years he served in The United States Army. He worked and retired from Gulf States Steel. He loved Alabama Football and golfing with his buddies at Briar Meade.

He is preceded in death by daughter Tammy Black parents V.A. and Dorothy Black, brother Gary Black and in laws J.C. and Pauline Prater.

He is survived by loving wife of 57 years, Glenda Prater Black, and daughter Angela Black, whom he lovingly referred to as "My Girls".

Special thanks to Bethany Anders for her loving care of Jerry, while he was in CCU, and Fran Morgan, for helping take care of his girls.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 2 pm until the time of service.
