IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jennifer Ruth
Garrett
April 13, 1947 – August 23, 2025
Jennifer Ruth Garrett (Jenny) died Saturday, August 23,2025 at Gadsden Health and Rehab after a brief illness.
A Gadsden native, she graduated from Emma Sansom High School and the Holy Name of Jesus School of Nursing. She spent her career as a psychiatric nurse in Birmingham. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading and cooking. She loved thrift store shopping with her sister, with whom she spent many fun days looking for treasures buried on the shelves. She loved history, especially the Elizabethan age in Europe and of the Civil War. She could speak knowledgeably about both subjects, and she did so frequently. She was a devoted member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter, where she was a member of the Altar Guild and the Daughters of the King.
She is survived by her son, Scott Davis (Gadsden), her sister, Ann Gentry (Alan), special cousins Barbara Pavey (Quentin), Rhonda Spurling (Thomas), Monica Spurling and numerous nieces, nephews and other cousins.
Jenny was preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances Garrett, and one brother, James Alexander (Jim) Garrett.
Funeral services will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter in Gadsden, Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025 at noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter or to your favorite charity.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the employees at Gadsden Health Care and Rehabilitation, to the 4th floor staff at Riverview Regional Medical Center and to Dr. Laura Bunch and the staff at Alabama Cancer Care of Gadsden.
